Chicago’s Girl & the Goat serves a family-style menu of tasty, bold-flavored foods with global influence in a fun and lively setting that makes guests feel at home from the moment they walk in the door. Nominated Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation in 2011, Chef Stephanie Izard went on to win the Beard award for Best Chef Great Lakes in 2013. Here are Stephanie’s 10 questions for #100opentables.
1. A meal that changed your life

2. Your break-out moment (in the past or to come)
It’s hard to pinpoint when, I think I have so much further to go! But I guess if I had to pick one moment, it would be when I opened my first restaurant, Scylla.
3. In good company: Your dream dinner guests
My grandparents, who I never got to know as an adult.
4. The moment that inspired your current path
The first day I walked into culinary school, and it felt like I found where I was supposed to be.
5. Everyone’s a critic / on getting panned
I try not to read everything. I’m sure I am a harsh enough critic of myself already!
6. What’s next?
Coming up in the near future is my new Chinese restaurant Duck Duck Goat! Opening this September. After that? We will see!
