You see it service after service: diners connecting with their phones more often than they connect with their dining companions. It’s not just your restaurant, though. A recent OpenTable survey revealed that 85 percent of adults check their phone at least once while dining out. We also discovered that 40 percent of us still get lectured by their moms about their phone time.
For additional marketing exposure and in the spirit of helping to make moms the center of attention this Mother’s Day, we’re inviting restaurants to support the #DiningMode campaign — with or without perks to diners for going into #DiningMode on May 12th. Diners are encouraged to participate in #DiningMode by putting aside their phones and give the ones they’re with the gift of being truly present and connecting over a great meal — and getting to know mom.
