People dine out to feel taken care of – that’s your expertise. Your team shines when they know a regular prefers sparkling water over still, is allergic to peanuts, or likes a corner booth best. Our expertise is delivering the kinds of insights that help you make every dining experience feel special and personal. That’s why we’re looking for new ways to integrate OpenTable’s flagship GuestCenter product with other hospitality-enhancing tools operators rely on.
Today, we announced an industry-first partnership with Upserve, allowing real-time, two-way data flow between GuestCenter’s operating system and Upserve’s point-of-sale system. Connecting guest preferences, reservation information, and point-of-sale data means restaurateurs can match individual checks to reservations, which allows servers to see what guests ordered during past visits and customize service on the fly.
“We immediately noticed an improved service flow from the front of the house to the back of house,” says Blake Mellgren, Executive Chef at Craft House, who uses both OpenTable and Upserve systems. “Having valuable guest information right on the POS has helped servers deliver a personalized experience and create a better connection with guests. Being able to seamlessly loop in the kitchen has allowed us to provide that extra touch, which has been essential in delivering exceptional service.”
Connecting the dots between guest, reservation, and check data is a big priority at OpenTable HQ. To date, we have integrations with 10 different POS systems, and thousands of restaurants are matching millions of individual checks to reservations every month.
